LYNN PAWLEY AND JAYNE PETERSEN

Hi this is just a short introduction to the editors of this site, I hope it provides you with a short and brief insight into both of us.

Intro

Hi, if you dont already know we are cousins and share the same "Oldcorn" family background where we were brought up with hound trailing from a very early stage. Our biggest influences have been our Nanna and Grandad (Elizabeth "Lizzie" and Robert "Bob" Oldcorn) more recently Michael (Jaynes Dad, Lynns Uncle) and Uncles James and John. We also have a number of other immediate family members including Kay, Katie, Tyler, Shauna, Ebby and Aiden (the latter four being up and coming budding members), our family ties make up over 80% of Ulverston Area members. Lynns Mam Kathryn is also involved she looks after the gate with Ulverston Area and entries at Kentmere, Staveley Head and Mill Riggs.

Job  :  Catering Manager

Marital Status : Engaged to Martin Burrow

Hounds :  Davina, Della, Desire and Destiny

Favourite Hound(s) It is difficult to choose a favourite hound of my own.The obvious answer would be Desire with what we have achieved with her but I was also very fond of Disco Star she was certainly a character and although she never won much she always tried her hardest and one of my favourite victories was when she beat Rockstar in the veteran trail at Millstone Moor on the last day of the season. A gutsy performance because she was really more at home on the fell. My favourite hound of all time has got to be Hartsop Magic.

Honours : I have an Honours Degree in Environmental Science and was one of the youngest ever members of the Executive Commitee.

Trailing wise the 2009 season was our very best ever. We won the Bitch Produce Stakes and the open pups on both May Day and Dog Produce at Askam with Desire and she also finished runner up in the puppy championship. To crown it off Della won the open restricted championship. A season I'll never forget. We had another good year in 2010 and Davina took the senior maiden title for us after scoring wins in this grade at Ambleside Sports and the August Premier.

Hobbies : Hound trailing (of course!) rugby league (Wigan Warriors fan), watching Home & Away (I love that programme), Horse racing (only really National Hunt) and reading, my favourite author is Cecilia Ahern.

Favourite Hound(s) : My own have a lot of potential and we will hopefully have a lot of fun with them this season. Last year was a successful one especially with Cavendish who progressed through the grades and won the open restricted at the HTA October Meeting at Kirkland Leaps. He also scored a second victory at the Michael Renney Memorial Meeting when winning the senior maidens and his ticketing exploits went a long way towards helping our team 'Shauna's Sugababes' win Division Two of the Team Competition.

Honours : Apart from my Masters Degree and professional qualifications/membrship, I am the first female Chairperson of the HTA.

Hobbies :  Hound Trailing (of course!), Travelling, Rugby League/Union (sorry), horse racing, cycling (especially Mark Cavendish, hence name)
